Senior Scientific Software & Business Analyst

Immunocore is a late-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of a novel class of TCR bispecific immunotherapies designed to treat a broad range of diseases, including cancer, infection and autoimmune disease. We are developing a deep pipeline in multiple therapeutic areas, including five clinical stage programs in oncology and infectious disease, advanced pre-clinical programs in autoimmune disease and multiple earlier pre-clinical programs.

It is an exciting time to join Immunocore. Our most advanced oncology therapeutic candidate, tebentafusp, has demonstrated an overall survival benefit in a randomized Phase 3 clinical trial in metastatic uveal melanoma, a cancer that has historically proven to be insensitive to other immunotherapies. The company also recently completed its Initial Public Offering and was listed on the NASDAQ. This role resides within our dynamic scientific computing team, who are responsible for delivering critical bespoke software solutions across the breadth of scientific departments. Immunocore is looking for a Senior Software Business Specialist who is passionate, enthusiastic and would relish the opportunity to immerse themselves within impactful and diverse projects. 


  • Translate scientific requirements into software-ready requirements to be worked on by developers
  • Oversee project progress and report development updates to company management team
  • Identify and communicate with key stakeholders in the scientific teams
  • Organise and guide software testing phase
  • Primary point of contact for scientists during testing processes
  • Keep up to date with pipeline developments and potential software requirements
  • Prioritise software development on an operational level
  • Provide support for the company electronic lab notebook system
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of production-quality modules for the Immunocore database system

Experience & Knowledge 


  • Experience in gathering software-ready requirements
  • Experience in Immunology
  • Experience in software development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Quick to understand new concepts
  • An ability to explain biological concepts to software developers
  • An ability to explain software development concepts to non-specialists
  • Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and experience of SQL


  • Knowledge of drug development pipelines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python/Django and/or JavaScript/React/HTML/CSS
  • Experience of working as part of a team on a large software development project

Education & Qualification:

  • A 2.1/1st class degree in computer science, biological sciences, or related subject
  • Additional experience in academia/industry would be advantageous
