Publications Assistant

Immunocore is an innovative and dynamic biotechnology company developing a unique platform of T Cell receptor-based therapeutics, called ImmTAX molecules, as a novel class of treatments for cancer, infectious and autoimmune diseases.

The Publications Assistant supports the planning, execution and archiving of all scientific communication deliverables, including abstracts, posters, slide decks and manuscripts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the timely execution of the publications plan according to strategy.
- Liaises with Dept Heads / Clinical Leads to collate publication plans
- Manages new proposals for scientific communications submitted by staff members
- Tracks internal and external deadlines for conference submissions
- Supports content development for external communications
- Liaises with internal & external authors during the review stage and collates author comments
- Supports generation of guidance documents & templates
- Supports generation of schematics and figures
- Supports journal or conference submissions
- Tracks progress of content development
- Updates journal database and journal formatting requirements
- Coordinates scientific and medical review of clinical communications
- Supports the development and maintenance of core publications guidance documents and templates
- Coordinates the internal approval of clinical and scientific communications
- Serves as the point of contact for staff submitting content for approval
- Manages each workflow from submission to final internal approval
- Maintains databases for approved content
- Other publication-related activities
- Manage quality checks of scientific content (against validated data outputs), including version control, citations and archiving
- Manage centralised reference databases and ensures compliance with our copyright licensing agreement
- Performs literature searches to support regulatory submissions
- Purchases published articles on request

- Providing additional ad-hoc support for projects within the research management and Business Development teams
Experience & knowledge
Essential
- Worked within a relevant scientific background
- Worked to build and maintain effective working relationships, ensuring good written and verbal communication skills
- Worked to a high level with organisational and IT skills
- Worked to ensure excellent organisational skills when working with colleagues
- Worked with reference management software
Desirable
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD in relevant field)
- Experience in Immunology / Oncology preferred
- Worked within Immunology/ pharmaceutical/ biotech sector
- Worked with writing scientific publications, with experience gained from within academia and/ or industry
- Knowledge of Good Publication Practices
- Worked with graphics software
