Director, Advocacy and Education

Immunocore is a late-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of a novel class of TCR bispecific immunotherapies designed to treat a broad range of diseases, including cancer, infection and autoimmune disease. We are developing a deep pipeline in multiple therapeutic areas, including five clinical stage programs in oncology and infectious disease, advanced pre-clinical programs in autoimmune disease and multiple earlier pre-clinical programs.

It is an exciting time to join Immunocore. Our most advanced oncology therapeutic candidate, tebentafusp, has demonstrated an overall survival benefit in a randomized Phase 3 clinical trial in metastatic uveal melanoma, a cancer that has historically proven to be insensitive to other immunotherapies. The company also recently completed its Initial Public Offering and was listed on the NASDAQ.

 

The Director Advocacy and Education will develop and execute Immunocore Advocacy and Education strategies, engaging with patient Advocacy organizations, professional societies, Continuous Medical Education providers, and health care professionals (MD, RN, RPH, etc). The role will have a remit covering both US and ex-US countries where Immunocore has medical affairs presence and will be pivotal in establishing the Advocacy and Education function at Immunocore in the build up to launch of a first-in class immunotherapy for a rare cancer.

The role serves to manage relationships with Advocacy and Professional organizations and is responsible for processes relating to it including development of strategy, review of grant request proposals, recommendations for approval of grants, monitoring associated metrics and acting as the functional bridge between these organizations and internal Immunocore stakeholders.  The role is also responsible for development and execution of the Peer to Peer (P2P) education strategy and independent medical education (IME), including development of a speakers bureau, standing Advisory Council, development of a CME RFP consistent with Immunocore strategies, review of IME proposals and selection of proposals for grant awards, and review and tracking of performance metrics for educational initiatives (P2P and IME).

The role will provide input into:

a) annual strategic planning in collaboration with the multi-functional brand team

b) life cycle management activities to support a culture of performance and executional excellence

c) insight gathering through interactions with Advocates and Professional Organizations and dissemination of these internally as appropriate.

Travel is 30-40%.

This position is located in the Conshohocken, PA or Rockville, MD offices.

Experience & knowledge

  • At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in an Advocacy or marketing/peer to peer education role.
  • Science degree - advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD)
  • Strong process, compliance, documentation and preferably project management expertise, ideally at a global level
  • Experience in Oncology (preferably Immuno-oncology) highly desirable 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Self-motivated able to work autonomously and must thrive on challenge
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 

Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.
